“I...am a Veteran” was a project intentionally designed to show there is a more human & everyday face to our service veterans. A face that exists beyond the customary visual metaphors of parades, medals & charity. Starting on Facebook and then spreading to other forums, including LinkedIn and Twitter. The support from friends and strangers, including organisations such as the UK Veterans Office, was immense and welcomed.
The one aspect I sought to capitalise on was the use of short phrases that were positive and indicative of what I was attempting to achieve. To that end, a series of posters were produced using PowerPoint as it was still very much in the early days regarding my graphic design skills and Desktop Publishing knowledge.
